Southern Girls Challenge

Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Yay this week is anything goes and I am happy as I have really enjoyed doing blended backgrounds so much and this gave me a very good excuse to do another. Please go and check the blog out as the team really did give some awesome inspiration and there are more than cards to check out.
I am so hoping to do a wedding album for me next year full of beautiful memories of the hubby I still love and miss so dearly. This weeks inspiration has spurred me on to stop thinking about it and start doing it!. Here is my card for this fortnights challenge. I so LOVE snowmen and this one just captured my heart. He is from Sweet n Sassy and I love him so. I cannot believe that this is the first time he has seen ink!

Thanks for stopping by!

Couldn't resist!

Sunday, November 25, 2018

I so enjoyed ink splatters that I decided to have another play and here is my second card for the Southern Girls Challenge.  Check this blog out and it is super awesome as there is a good component of Kiwi and Aussie Cardmakers in this group. It would be lovely to get to know a few more local crafters!
I have had this set sitting in view for more time that I care to confess and thought it would look good with a oxide ink backdrop with splatters. I have lots of distress inks but only one oxide pad and was keen to try it out. LOVE how it blends onto the cardstock!
So here is my second card with oxide ink splatters and stamps coloured with distress ink pens.
Many thanks for dropping by.

Southern Girls Challenge

Saturday, November 17, 2018

This fortnight for the Southern Girls Challenge the theme is Inks and Sprays. I received a little parcel from Papertrey ink this week and had spoiled myself somewhat with the beautiful Botanical Bounty set so thought I would ink up those beautiful blossoms and throw a few ink splatters about :).
I also used a lovely die that is from a series being done this year called shape shifters............Love them to bits!. I used Papertrey Inks to colour my blossoms and the light blue is looking a little gray in my photo. So hard to get a true reflection of the colours :). Well here is my card, thanks for stopping by.  Check out this awesome Challenge,  would love to see you sharing there to!

Thursday, November 8, 2018

I recently found a close to home challenge that while open to everywhere has a large component of New Zealand and Australian crafters :) would be nice to get to know others from closer by that have the same passion for crafting. I took a look around the wonderful sponsors store 'Kinda Cute'

I just could not resist this gorgeous snowman! I cut him out and did a little colouring to tie in with my background paper and then finished my card of with some slightly puffy stickers as was the challenge this week :) . I sure look forward to seeing what others have done with this challenge and hope to drop by your blogs soon. Happy Cardmaking! Here is my creation for this challange

Make it monday is something I always look forward to, it has been some time since I actively participated as working fulltime night shift has its challenges on its own!. I loved this technique and decided I would love to make a Christmas card using this technique. Double whammy as I get to play along and I can also add a card to my growing pile of Chrissy cards that I am determined to have sent out in good time this year.

Altenew Oct Inspiration Challenge

Thursday, October 25, 2018

Loved the colours for this challenge, whilst the USA is in Autumn mode we are warming up and enjoying a little more sunshine here in New Zealand. I loved the challenge of these colours and hope you enjoy my card today. Here is the inspiration for this challenge by the lovely Virginia Lu

I used a butterfly the painted butterfly set and then found a leaf from my Beautiful Day set which I have long adored. the sentiment is from the thinking of you set (another one I love and use often)
For my background I used the halftone circles on kraft cardstock and then flicked some of the blck watercolour paint from the Altenew pellet and that was my card complete....Oh and of course a string bow :)

PTI Make it Monday

Sunday, March 4, 2018

Just in on this one! Had a long stretch of nights and not so easy to get creative when one is tired. I am enjoying the Make it Monday series as I think I have only ever masked once before.  It is great to be trying different techniques. I have had this stamp set for quite some time, really enjoyed opening it and giving it some ink. I have used the larger apple from the What the Doodle series Apples.
Here is my card for this weeks Challenge.

February Blog Hop PTI

Sunday, February 25, 2018

Cannot believe another hop has come around. Before we know it we will be marching on into March. How quickly the months roll on over. Wonderful inspiration for this months hop. I have to say I have been pretty tired of the last week and inspiration has not been my friend. Now that my card is done I am thinking of other possibilities or ways I could have gone with my card :)
Here is the inspiration pic for this month.........

Here is my card for today. I purchased the Vintage Jadeite some time back in cardstock and patterned paper and thought this was the time to open and use it. I did cover the dotted paper with a piece of frosted plastic which muted the colour a little. Thanks for calling in today, I am off to sleep now that I have posted my card as had a very busy nightshift (my fourth) and looking forward to counting bunnies :) Good night all

Make it Monday PTI

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

I love the Make it Monday happening. It helps me to think outside of the box as my sentiments are mostly cut out and added. Today I decided I wanted a card that could be used for the man in someone's life. So without further ado here is what I came up with. Thanks to Laurie for all the wonderful inspiration. I so totally adore her creations

Last Challenge for PTI 11th Anniversary

Friday, February 16, 2018

Wowser what a fun time this release has been and really enjoyed the FB live yesterday. Congrats to the winners, so excited for those that heard there names called. Right straight to the posting as I am so tired. Worked last night then home and put a lamb casserole in the slow cooker and made a big tray of spaghetti bolognese so that I don't have to cook for the next three nights :)

PTI Day 7 Use dies only

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Day 7 was a call to use dies only for a card...............no stamps! I don't think I have ever made a card with dies only until today. I was so happy to be able to shout myself some of the new coordinating Bitty Big papers to make cards with and used them for the first time today for this new challenge.
Hawaiian Shores has to be hands down one of my fav PTI colours. Today I made a birthday card to celebrate PTI's 11th birthday. It was a great thing as I discovered those gorgeous little hearts in a set I bought a few years ago for Valentine cards.

Happy Birthday PTI

PTI Make it Monday

Thursday, February 1, 2018

Really enjoyed watching Stephanie put her card together for this weeks challenge and loved participating!. I did search high and low for some wonderful handmade paper I had been given but could not find anywhere. For sure when I am not looking for it, it shall turn up.
I used paper from a very old crossword dictionary today along with Vellum and a copper foiled heart.

The flower comes from the set Meadow Greens and the sentiment if from a favourite set of mine called The Skinny. Thanks for dropping in today!.

PTI Make it Monday

Friday, January 26, 2018

Firstly, I have asked myself after participating in this weeks challenge why don't I always use this technique! I love the effect the shadow stamping has on the sentiment. I also wanted to say how much I fell in love with Lizzie's card this week. I took a second photo as was not sure if the shadowed stamping would show up.

I used a light grey alongside my Enchanted Evening Ink

Seize the Birthday First Challenge for 2018

Friday, January 5, 2018

I so need to make a stash of birthday cards and cannot think of a better way of doing it! Play some birthday challenges. This first challenge for 2018 is anything goes, I have just finished making a card for a beautiful soul and thought I would play along with the challenge.

I have to say I think this is one of my most favourite floral sets of all times. Created by Dawn from Papertrey ink, it is a stunning set. I then used some sentiments from Altenew, I love it when I dont feel compelled to use all products from one company and instead mix them up.
So here is my creation, thanks so very much for dropping by, I delight in your visits :)
